Feb 2008 Southampton and London UK
I live right up in the Highlands of Scotland (a little distillery place called Glenlivet) but when GW went "down south" to Southampton and London, I
couldn't not go...and I will post my experience of the gigs on here at some point but one thing which sticks in my mind is that I have met some lovely
friends at GW gigs. Julian I met at London, and then went to Sweden Rock festival with last year, and Marie and Jon (who I seem to have lost touch
with but perhaps this will bring us back in touch) at Southampton. I also remember very clearly meeting Jack outside the venue in London and having a
quick hug before he went in (he was running late) and how muscular Audie was to hug....and ever since have been kciking hubby down the gym but he's a
way off yet!
One thing I always love about GW is the connection with the crowd. I asked the guys from Crimes of Passion who supported them (go anc check them out)
to ask Jack to give me a cuddle, hey if you don't ask you don't get, and as soon as he came on stage he ran over and gave me a big squeeze and at the
risk of sounding like a mental groupie, it made my year.
